Summary:
The main function of an Software Database Engineer is to establish system information requirements using analysis of information in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems.

Job Responsibilities:
• Designs architecture to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces
• Ensures these systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for agency IT architectures, and profiles of standards as they apply to the implementation and specific to the solution for the platform, integration with other systems, and the external interfaces
• Ensures that the common operating environment is compliant. Evaluates analytically and systematically problems of work flows, organization and planning and develops appropriate corrective action
• Provides daily supervision and direction of the Team's data and architecture design and works with others to determine the best structure for scalable output.
• Partners across teams to adopt solutions, implement new technologies, and build upon the work of others to optimize internal technologies
• Consults team, leaders, and partners on the architecture requirements and dependencies and on data insights that come from the infrastructure work.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred
• 0-2 years experience required
• Experience with broad technology delivery, including custom development using various development languages
• Experience with providing technical leadership, mentoring on software engineering design, development, and frameworks, analyzing alternatives, and presenting technical options to leads and clients
• Experience with driving technical planning and solutions for small software portfolio, including authoring or managing the development of software designs, managing vendor evaluations, and justifying technical recommendations
• Ability to apply fundamental concepts, processes, practices, and procedures on technical assignments

• Preferred experience working with LLM's or have passion for AI prompt engineering
• Requires practical experience and training

Job Requirements

• Years of Experience Required – They are seeking approximately 2-4 years of experience
• Degrees or certifications required – Data Analyst degrees is a huge plus and is willing to makeup for not having a lot of experience. Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred
• Disqualifiers – negative attitude and willingness to collaborate/growth mind-set is important.
• Best vs. Average – Curiosity, love for challenges, self-driven for achievement, corelates things that don’t seem to be corelating. Can find connections in work strings, very methodical. Be able to capture work-strings and document everything.
• Performance Indicators – Ability to transfer team’s architecture over to the Azure. Setting modules and getting data properly migrated and optimization of the solutions for this role. Resourcefulness is a great thing that will be measured. Quality collaboration with the team as well is important.

• Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm – 25% of time working with senior leader with data infrastructure, what they are doing, and how they want the future state to look like, 55% of the time data transformation, ingestion, and coding, 20% learning new solutions and trying new things/innovating.
• Interaction level with sponsor/team – High level of interaction with multiple lines of business
