Job Description:
The main function of a Communications Specialist is to assist corporate communications with message development, writing, and editing.

Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible for ensuring timely, creative and accurate dissemination of news, multimedia content and information
• Create a variety of content for platforms, ensuring quality, accuracy and effective storytelling that aligns with corporate messaging
• Forecast and track marketing and sales trends, analyzing collected data.
• Works closely with Client's Product corporate sales team to write and finalize monthly and annual press release.

Skills:
• Verbal and written communication skills, negotiation skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
• Basic knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.
• Basic knowledge of media production, communication and dissemination techniques and methods.

Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in marketing or equivalent training preferred.
• 5-7 years related experience required.

Job Requirements

• Years of experience required – 2-3 years
• Degrees or certifications required – none, bachelors degree in business, marketing, or communications
• Disqualifiers – none.
• Best – Has a CSR background, possibly has experience in non profit work but still has a corporate business acumen. They can run scheduling and planning for a social media and understand the editorial process, as well as, writing for multiple projects. Microsoft experience preferred.
• Average – Meets requirements, doesn’t have Corporate Responsibility experience
• Performance indicators – Completes inventory of content for the list of deliverables presented and the ability to create and organize timelines for the project in its entirety.

Typical Day in the Role

• Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm –
- -20% meetings
- 20% learning and reviewing current processes and strategic communications.
- 30% coordinating reviews and implementing updated processes
- 5% ad hoc work
- 25% following up on tasks and meeting with sponsor
• Interaction level with sponsor/team – high interaction with the team

• Expected working hours – 8am – 5pm M-F (any time zone), 40 hours a week.
