The Surface team is lighting up Microsoft experiences with the next generation of devices. A fundamental part of our strategy is having desirable and powerful devices that enable the experiences people want and elicit their excitement. The Surface business is growing rapidly, and we are looking for an experienced Business Administrator to support our managers and team. This role will take on a variety of tasks while working in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have great attention to detail, be able to proactively anticipate needs and shift priorities quickly, be self-motivated, self-aware, and have a sense of responsibility.
This role will be supporting a complex calendar for GM, as well as providing support for several international teams.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Proactively managing a COMPLEX GM calendar with attention to accuracy, timeliness, conflict resolution and alignment to the leader’s priorities and commitments
• Planning and coordination of domestic and international travel plans
• Partnering with a team of business administrators to support the organization’s T&E budgets, employee onboarding, and offboarding.
• Assisting with headcount management, vendor account management and onboarding and distribution and security group ownership and management
• Timely and accurate reconciliation of expenses, ensuring employees’ expenses comply with company policies and appropriate category of spend.
• Team support includes space management, office moves, new hire set up and onboarding and procurement of equipment and supplies and organizing, managing and facilitating teams' events.
• Maintaining manager and group information with confidentiality
• Effectively communicating and building relationships with the business support community and business leadership
• Influencing and embracing cross-functional/cultural teams
• Ensuring compliance with Microsoft and team policies and procedures
Basic Qualifications:
• 4+ years of proven relevant work experience
• A great attitude and positive approach to people and tasks
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
• Maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive material with tact and professionalism.
• Ability to react with appropriate urgency to situations and requests.
• Strong attention to detail with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to build effective cross-group working relationships and work collaboratively with people at all levels of the organization.
• Able to solve complex problems when they occur.
• Proficiency with Microsoft software, including Microsoft Office and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
• 2+ years prior MS experience, proficient with MS internal tools
• BA/BS degree is desirable but not required.
• Project management experience

Typical Day in the Role
